What Camp is like without the Campers

Posted by Sharon

Have you ever thought about what camp is like after the summer?  Have you ever wondered what we do when you’re not here?  It’s a hard transition when you leave camp and there’s only a few of us here.  I’m sure you probably go through a “camp” withdrawal after you leave.  We go through a “camper” withdrawal as well.  Just know that we are here thinking and praying for you.  Anytime you want to stop by or send us a message to let us know how you’re doing, we’d appreciate it!  Well, hopefully this will give you an idea of what camp is like without the campers…

I hope you heard at the end of the video that we are getting a brand new Store/Museum this year!!!  Construction will be starting soon so be sure to check back for updates!

  1. I LOVE THE VIDEO!! I LAUGHED OUT LOUD A FEW TIMES!!! GREAT JOB!! WE DO REALLY MISS CAMP! THANKS FOR THE FUN VIDEO AND UPDATE! Dina =)

  2. I retired from teaching last May…..would love to come and help some time in the future in off season so you guys aren’t so lonely…..we worked full time at a camp in East Texas for five years as assistant directors. I married after my one summer at Crestridge in 1974 so never got back to work, but I’ve come by several times. My husband is a pastor, and we want to volunteer about 9 months out of the year while our health is good enough to do so. The mountains are calling……

  3. I worked as Cherokee counselor and junior music director in 1974, the 20th anniversary summer. I married the next year, so never returned to staff. I do walk through every time I’m in the area. I believe in Crestridge and the difference it can make in a life and the world!
