Digital Photography for 2009

One of the New Skills we’re adding this summer is digital photography!  It’s been talked about for a few years and is finally here.  No need to bring your own camera to this skill, we’re providing it for you. The picture shows the type of camera you’ll be using in this skill (and some of the accessories).  You’ll learn how to make good pictures great!  It’s well on the way to becoming a favorite (judging by skill sheets already returned to the office).  So sign up today before all the spots are filled!

Still More Construction

Did you think all the construction for the summer was finished?  Well, not quite yet. We still have a few minor things left to build before the summer gets underway.  One of those projects is a NEW ZIPLINE TOWER!  The blob tower is new (2007 anyway) and we thought it only fair to rebuild the zipline tower.  Check out the progress so far:

2009 Clothing Line

Every summer as we get ready for you to come to camp, we design a bunch of unique clothing just for you.  We have T-shirts, Cheer Shorts, Sweatshirts, Sweatpants, Micro fleece Jackets, Blankets, Nalgene Bottles, Crazy Creek Camping Chairs, and a ton more!  This stuff is designed just for you to use here at camp, but is perfect for back home as well.  To wet your appetite, we’ve started to put pictures of the clothing up on our site as it arrives here at camp.  Click here for the 2009 Clothing or visit  www.ridgecrestcamps.com/store.  You can pre-order all of this stuff or just pick it up when you get to camp on Opening Day!  We’re excited to see you!                                                                  It won’t be long until you’re headed to camp!

Video Tours of New Buildings

Hopefully you’ve been keeping up with the posts on the new cabins, Bear Trap and dining hall.  You’ve seen the latest pictures and are up to date on the news.  Well, now we wanted to give you a 360 video tour of the buildings.  The first clip is one of the new camper cabins.  Everything is done, now it’s just waiting to be used by campers and staff.

The next couple clips are of the Bear Trap.  The first one shows the downstairs offices.  There’s a lot more organizing that’ll be done (both downstairs and upstairs) before everyone arrives, but you’ll get a feel for the place from the videos.  During the summer, campers and staff can go in and out as needed on the this floor.

This shows the upstairs on the Bear Trap.  It’ll house the staff lounge and VD office and because of that, only staff will be allowed upstairs during the summer.

And finally, a short clip of the dining hall with its new floor.  It’ll look much different in a few short weeks.  All of the tables and chairs will be moved back inside ready for mealtimes.

For those of you new to Crestridge, hopefully this will help you feel more familiar with the place on opening day.  For you returning campers, I hope this makes you even more excited to be at Crestridge this summer!
